Jeepers Creepers!

I was finally able to upload my new Sub Planner for Jeepers Creepers.

I almost couldn't stop myself from adding activities to this lesson--it was so much fun!  So, I added a freebie for you to have.  You can use it with this lesson or as as a small group activity or a literacy station--whatever you want!

We didn't wait for a sub--
I did it with my kinders to test it out.  Here are some pictures of their monsters...
Sorry the pictures aren't very good--I forgot my camera and had to take some with my phone.  I will
TRY
to remember to take better pictures tomorrow.

The 100th Day of School, FREEBIE, and a Give Away!

Oh my!  This is my 100th post and yesterday was the 100th Day of School!  Coincidence?--Probably!  But still pretty excited about both.  Yesterday was packed with activities and I still don't feel like we accomplished much, so I decided that I would continue to celebrate next week.  First, my kinders brought in snacks to share for 100th day snacks.  We put the snacks on the table and they picked 10 at a time and colored in their boxes to keep track.  I am sorry that I don't have picks of them looking so cute picking out their snacks, but I do have a copy of the page if you want it.  Just print, cut each 10 block section and your kiddos color each box after they count out a group of ten--easy peezy!

Each K teacher came up with an activity to do with kinders in their room and the kinders rotated around...they had a blast!  I helped the kinders put paper chains together to count down the remaining days of the year (I can't believe we only have 70 more days--I have so much to do).  We used orange for nine chains and one black when we reached ten (school colors).  The other teacher led activities were making paper crowns with glitter for the 100th day, assembling 100 piece puzzles, 100 piece lego creations, singing and dancing to counting songs, and making footprints.  There is so much I want to do, so I will continue next week!  Have you celebrated the 100th day of school yet?  What are some of your favorite activities?

And for the Give Away...
I am really excited about my new product and have a great week with it, so I would like to give it away to someone!  It is emergency lesson plans centered around the book:  Llama Llama Red Pajama.  I have included writing activities, math activities, and group activities.  I hope you enjoy it.  It's nice to have plans waiting for a sub, but you do not have to wait to use it!  I am finishing my monster plans and we couldn't wait--I had a blast creating monsters with my kinders.  I will post pics about that soon!
But back to the give away...it's really easy!

1.  You don't have to follow me on TpT
but I would love it if you did :0)

2.  You don't have to follow my blog,
but I would love it if you did :0)

3.  But I REALLY need you to leave me a comment with your name and email so I can let you know if you are picked!  I will attempt to use the auto generator number picker to choose someone.

The winner will be picked  Monday after school!  Good luck to everyone.

Gad it is Sunday...

I woke up this morning with an awful headache and pain behind my eyes!  Oh no! I was so glad it was Sunday because I am not exactly prepared at school.  I know I should have my lesson plans completed on Friday and waiting on my desk--just in case the unthinkable should happen--and I have to call in!  Well, I have been working on a project because I know I am not the only one out there.  I created a hero who will make sure that a sub is ready for my class or a sub is ready for your class.

Just find the book in your library, make some copies, and place the folder in a safe place on your desk.  Never worry again that your are not ready for a sub--rest assured that you are.  I wanted to make sure that my kinders were not just doing "busy work" so I included a writing response sheet that would have them thinking about new vocabulary words, practice their math skills on a math handout, create a group project that could be displayed, and a fun game to play with the sub.  They might just have too much fun!  Here are some snippets of what my product looks like and if you would like to purchase one for yourself, head over to my TpT store for just $4.00.
(can't seem to get the picture any clearer)

I am working on more plans so let me know if you have any books you would like me to include.

LOVE OF READING

I was searching on line and I found a wonderful website...

Have you been on this website before?  You can view, save, and open books on your interactive
whiteboard and share with your class.  BONUS--for every book your read, one is donated to
a child in need!  You can't get much better than that.  I also found this website...

You can use this site on your interactive whiteboard also--the stories are read to you!

I love when I find interactive ways to use books and so does my kinders---
"read it again"  those are my favorite words!

What a Wonderful Act of Kindness

I was checking some of my favorite blogs and guess what one of my K teaching buddies is doing? She is helping out a few teachers in Joplin and I couldn't wait to help too!  I will give you a tidbit of info, but what you need to do is head over to her blog and link up so you can help out too!  I just LOVE Acts of Kindness!

She got an email from a kindergarten teacher in Joplin, and this is what it said:

I teach in Joplin, which made worldwide news last May when our town was cut in half by an F5 tornado.  Many of our elementary schools were destroyed or damaged, and as teachers, we have had a roller coaster year.  I came from a meeting yesterday where many are struggling with the weight of all we are dealing with.  My request is this:  would you be willing to donate a created pack of your choosing to give away at a drawing at our upcoming district Kindergarten grade level meeting?  The meeting is Monday and I am sorry for the short notice but I did not realize until the meeting how down everyone is feeling.

So, you wanna help??
Just go to Mrs. Wills' blog, send some good stuff to Erica's email address, link up, and link back from your blog!  Easy peezy, lemon squeezy.
